New version of good-sounds.org

19.05.2015

After some testing and feed-back from the initial users, we have made major changes to http://good-sounds.org, a website to share an evaluate the sound quality of single notes played on various instruments.

We would now like your participation to improve the automatic scoring that supports the site, thus making the site more interesting to instrumentalists and other users. We need instrumentalists to upload sounds and we need users to vote on the perceived quality of the sounds in the site. Every sound has a quality score computed from the user’s votes and a quality score generated automatically after the system learns from the correlation between the user’s votes and the audio features computed from the sounds.

This site is being developed by the MTG-UPF in collaboration with KORG and in the next few months it will incorporate more instruments, more playing exercises (more than stable single notes), and given that the sounds use a Creative Commons licence they will also be in freesound.org.

Please let your musician friends know about the site.
