Abstract CLAM (C++ Library for Audio and Music) is a C++ framework for creating audio and music applications. First, a quick overview of the project and a more in-depth overview of its design are presented. Next, its key benefits and some potential disadvantages are considered. Some of the available alternatives to using CLAM are considered and CLAM’s immediate future is briefly summarized. When considering whether or not to use CLAM for a project, this article should provide a useful aid. Furthermore, for those doing similar software projects, this article describes some of the Software Engineering methodologies and solutions the CLAM development team use.
