Musical and advanced interaction
- Musical and Advanced Interaction group: official website
Within this line of research we are interested in studying musical interaction and developing interfaces of use for creating and exploring music. We have specially focused our research on tabletop interfaces, interfaces which favor multi-dimensional and continuous real-time interaction, exploration and multi-user collaboration. Our main result has been the Reactable (Jordà et al., 2007), an electronic music instrument, which combines a tangible table-based interface with paradigms such as modular synthesis, visual programming and visual feedback.
From the work on the Reactable we have also studied the use of this type of interfaces for the exploration of music (Julià and Jordà, 2009).
